AHHHHHHHH! A break - at last!

I'm officially on vacation starting today through June 4th. I cannot think of another time when I have looked forward to a break as much as I am this one. Work has been so stressful for me and my teams and I desperately needed to get away. Today was great! Hubby knew I needed a break. It is such an honor to have a good man like Troy in my life. He really understands me and my needs. We ended the afternoon by seeing MIB3. It was cute! Only disappointment - no pug! They had pictures of Frank but no Frank in the movie. But Lady GaGa has made the list of aliens they monitor. LOL I am finishing my Jo Morton's Tranferware tonight. I cheated and paperpieced the flying geese. I'll get a picture posted soon for it. The flying geese were supposed to be 3/4 x 1 1/4 I think. Mine are 1 x 1 1/2. I used Triangulations 3.0 instead of trying to draw my own or develop the right size in EQ7. If you live in the Richmond, VA area, Jo Jo's Quilt Shop did have some. Everyone was scarfing them up so check to see if they still have any. Sewing with some ladies in the morning and traveling with a couple of others early next week. I can't wait to immerse myself in fabric and completely forget about work.

What's on Your Design WallT

This quilt is for a group at Jo Jo's Quilt Shop. We're making quilts for wounded soldiers. This is actually a Christmas pattern from Thimbleberries - Snowflakes, I think. I'll post the real name later as the quilt comes together. Have a wonderful week!

Red Ridge Beauty

First - Happy Mother's Day to all! I hope you have a wonderful day with your kids / grandkids no matter if they be human or animal. We had a red and white strip exchange at JoJo's Quilt Shop - my "home" quilt shop with our Scrap Therapy group a while back. We were working on patterns out of Bonnie Hunter's Leaders and Enders. One of the ladies, Judi, did not want her strips once the exchange was done - just not her colors - and God Bless Her! With her donation and just a little bit our of my stash, the quilt began to take shape. The pattern is Blue Ridge Beauty. The modifications I made are small - Bonnie calls for 2" strips / squares. The strips I had were 2 1/2" and 5". So I went with a 4" finished block for the 4 patch and 1/2 square triangle to not have to cut all of those strips again! I think the results are spectacular. This quilt is going home to Texas to live with my brother and sister-in-law around Garrison, TX. Now I have to make me one! Love the quilt!
Isn't it so nice of hubby to straighten the quilt out for pictures! The quilt is 100" by 118" Have a wonderful Sunday!

Can You Stand Another Picture of Maggie Moo?

Maggie is just the funniest dog. I finally got a picture straight on of her sitting on the couch! She is just like a teenager - she even talks back to us. The good thing, no boyfriends! LOL!

Speaking Faith

We never blog enough about our faith so I am going to try to post on my faith more often.  I am a Christian - my denomination is Methodist.  I was raised Presbyterian.  I don't go to church regularly but I do watch Joel Osteen regularly on TV.  I am a person who enjoys a positive message like the ones Joel sends out to us all.  Negative messages make me depressed and make me believe I will never be good enough for God.  Well, isn't that just silly!?!

Some people need the negative messages - and I respect that.  Some people feel Joel doesn't really preach God's word - and I respect that.  We all have opinions and we all have our beliefs.  Isn't wonderful that we live in a country that is tolerant of all religions?  I hope you respect my right to enjoy Joel's messages!

God and Jesus are important in my live and my daily pray is for His will to be done above all others.  I pray for tolerance for others and for me.  I pray for our caregivers, our soldiers, our teachers and our religious leaders.  Today, I add you to my prayers.  May you find peace, comfort and love in the Lord, our Father.
