WOW! What An End to the Week!

This week has been a bit - well - INSANE.  Full moon week and everybody was howling and moaning at work.  But then there is quilting - the sanity check.  Except for this week.  I was working on a UFO from a class in 2009 and one project just started but I just HAD to use up that fabric.  Both projects required more fabric than I had.  I had good quilty buddies come through with one piece.  I just found out about the second piece I need tonight.  I have to do better with EQ7!  I didn't look at the fabric requirement for the borders or I would have changed the size of the blocks.  Anyway, a quick Google search finds only ONE shop with the second fabric needed!  Really!?!  Not even EBay!!  So, I have fabric coming from the UK to finish the final border on the bottom of the quilt.  You know that will make the label on the quilt!

And then the big news:  I WON A PRIZE ON PAT SLOAN'S BLOG!!  I love her blog and read it daily.  I've only entered a couple of contests to win a prize.  I'm one of those that never wins so I only enter if I really, really like the prize.  And I do and I WON!!  WOOHOO!!!  I won a jelly roll of Aster Manor.  It is absolutely beautiful.  Or - I should say - I think that's what I won.  When  I get my prize, I will take a picture and put it on this blog.

Final closing comments, be kind to yourself!  We are so hard on ourselves and we need to let up on us.  If we are as kind to ourselves as we are to our friends, imagine how much easier life would be!  God bless you all!

Sewing with the Wayward Girls

I had a wonderful sew day with the Wayward girls.  It's just a couple of good friends who love quilting as much as i do.  I forgot my camera so no pictures but it was nice to get with them.  I've been traveling and working and haven't done as much with fabric as I need to do.  It seems to re-center me.  Sewing is my stress reliever - and it always works!

Maggie Moo

So how does your dog sit on the couch - or other fur baby?  Her quilt was store bought - the plaid one.  The  other is mine and she's not allowed on that one!  I just love the way she sits - it's like a teenager!
